The whole scene is - well, it's no longer a real scene. In my mind it was originally the part of my story where Nual (the girl) is fleeing on a boat, thinking about her "lost love". Cliché?
You know, I was thinking about making Aros (the guy) somewhat translucent, so as to emphasize the memory aspect, but well, I didn't. For that effect to work I'd need a decent background, and I have no real background here. Heh. I am horrible at drawing backgrounds, as anyone who's been around my gallery might notice.
Anyways! I was lazy on everything but the hair, and maybe the skin. I mean, look at those clothes. Boring, I know. This is one of the few drawings that I inked and then scanned, then to color on the PC! And the first I've posted here on DA. ^^ I hope it's good. My inking skills are still new to me, so to speak. Hee. And it takes much less time. ^_^
Wow! Gorgeous picture; I love the way you shaded the hair especially, definitely gives off a nice, silky texture; the sort that kind of makes you want to be able to reach out and pet the characters. o_O" ^^" Also love her hand and the details of the items thereupon; and te soft, subtle tones you used to shade the skin. Just.. overall.. amazing. o_o" And personally; I think the background looks just fine - 'specially the way you did the specific twinkling stars. me thinks you're good at backgrounds, but just are either too lazy to maximize your potential or just plain dillusional. Purdeh. Although, then again, I've never been sulking around your gallery before so I wouldn't know, eh? ;3
All in all, beautiful style, colouring, and composition! ^__^ I'm glad I randomly managed to stumble across this image on the main DevART page. Now I really shall have to sulk around your gallery.
You're going on my DevWatch. ^_~
Aww, I think it's lovely. I'm awful at backgrounds too But I think the simplicity of the night sky works nicely in this picture. That turtle is adorable! Good work!

Whoa, deja vu. As soon as I saw this it made me remember this one night hanging out with a guy I used to be friends with... we walked along looking at the stars and then he played his guitar for me. Man, he was so cute that evening!
Thanks for reminding me of the good ol' days

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
